Panoramica

Hassan II Mosque, the Habous quarter and the Atlantic Corniche

Discover the modern face of Morocco on a guided tour of Casablanca, the country's largest city and economic capital. Known locally as "Dar el Beida" — the White House — Casablanca blends grand Art Deco boulevards, traditional neighbourhoods and the breathtaking Atlantic coastline. The star of the day is the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Completed in 1993 and built partly over the ocean, it is a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship, with carved cedar wood, hand-cut zellige tiles and marble, and a minaret rising around 210 metres — among the tallest in the world. You'll have time to admire its vast esplanade and seafront setting; non-Muslim visitors can also join an official guided tour of the interior (ticket not included). Next, explore the Habous quarter, a charming "new medina" built in the 1930s, with arcaded lanes, olive and spice stalls, bookshops and traditional pastry shops. The tour continues through the city centre around Mohammed V Square and its elegant colonial-era administrative buildings, a showcase of the Art Deco and Mauresque architecture Casablanca is famous for. The day ends with a drive along the Corniche of Ain Diab, the city's seafront lined with beaches, cafés and ocean views. Pick-up and drop-off are from your hotel or the cruise port in Casablanca, in an air-conditioned vehicle with a local guide. Choose a shared small-group departure or a private vehicle for up to four people.
